  • Test drive vehicle. There is more than one noise coming from under the hood. The first noise is coming from the serpentine belt tensioner. We need to replace the serpentine belt, smooth idler pulley and the belt tensioner. Also the power steering is noisy and the fluid is extremely dark. My recommendation would be to flush the power steering fluid and add some Lucas power steering fluid additive. Also all the mounts are collapsed in the engine is sitting without the rubber cushion. The motor vibrates not only when idling but will also vibrate during driving creating a noise also which is clearly Audible. Vehicle needs to have all new motor and transmission mounts.
  • Road test for power steering operation. Inspect system for leaks. Flush power steering lines, pump, rack and pinion, and or gear box. Install new power steering fluid. Install power steering additive to revitalize seals and . Road test vehicle.

  • Check battery voltage. Battery was completely dead. Replace AC Delco battery with a new one and start vehicle. Testing charging system and charging system at this time is putting out 14.4 volts. Let the vehicle sit over the weekend and when I came in Monday morning vehicle is completely dead. Car has a significant battery drain. Diagnosed the draw to three fuses, all related to power points and IPC.
  • Install scan tool and retrieve codes C0045, left rear wheel speed sensor circuit fault. C0047, left rear wheel speed circuit range. Left rear wheel bearing has play in it and would throw the magnet out of range. Replace left rear wheel bearing assembly. Still left with code C0045. Install scope and perform the signature test and the A/C voltage test. The A/CVt est showed not enough voltage to create a signal at the wheel speed sensor. Checked the ABS module to check for the same signature signal/voltage. Had to remove the cooling fan to gain access to the wiring, Found the same thing at the module as I found at the wheel speed sensor. Install the digital multimeter connector c-101 and check the reference voltage from the ABS module to the left rear wheel speed sensor. Had to .02volt. Check the right rear wheel speed sensor reference voltage at the module and had 2.5 volt reference signal which is normal. It appears that theABS/EBCM in this vehicle is faulty.
  • Found ABS/EBCM bad/ R and R EBCM
  • Carpet was wet in the right rear passenger foot area and has corroded the wiring harness directly beneath. All these wires need to be disassembled from the harness and repaired individually.

  • The HVAC module had codes P0163, passenger compartment temp sensor 1 circuit shorted the battery or open. B0413, temp control 1 feedback circuit actuator stuck. P0423, temp control to feedback circuit actuator The HVAC codes will require two actuators to be replaced and we will have to perform an electrical check for voltage at the temp sensor 1 circuit.
  • The TPM light was on the dash and I have a code C0750 08, left rear tire signal invalid. Checking the TPMS system data, the left rear tire pressure is reading 147.8 lb and the sensor is in "learn mode". The other sensors are reporting correctly. If this sensor has not been replaced than obviously it's faulty. If it has been replaced and it's not been relearned properly.

  • System was low on R134. I added 12oz so that I could leak test the system. At this time no leaks were detected anywhere in the front or rear AC system. At this point we need to evacuate the system, add some die, and charged with a proper amount of R134 for the system.
  • Recover, Evacuate and recharge AC System with the proper amount of refrigerant. Renew Charge port valve cores. Re-leak and performance test system.
  • Noise from engine is coming from the valve train and or the lifters. At this time we may try a bottle of Lucas with the oil change to see if it will quiet it down or reduce the noise. If not then we will have to do a disassemble and inspect.
